Context<\/h3><\/div>\n\t

According to a study by the International Organization for Migration “Egypt after 25 January – Survey on Youth Migration Intentions”, 79% stated that employment remains the most important issue today. 73% believe that the main factor for migration is the lack of jobs (74% in Upper Egypt, 74% of 20-24 year olds versus 67% of 25-29 year olds). 75% indicate that the primary purpose of migration is to earn money (74% in Upper Egypt).<\/p>\n

PPI has observed in recent years that the highest migration flow involves young people under the age of 24 who move abroad or to the northern regions of Egypt in search of a job in order to be able to get rich and save up.<\/strong> They often return to their native region in their thirties to settle down and start a family.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Goals<\/h3><\/div>\n\t
    \n
  • Improve employment opportunities and promote self-employment and entrepreneurship among vulnerable youth in Upper Egypt.<\/li>\n
  • Train, motivate and provide skills to 100 young people aged 18-25<\/strong> with sufficient motivation and knowledge for self-employment.<\/li>\n
  • Strengthen the entrepreneurial and business skills of 50 young people.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

    Beneficiaries<\/h3><\/div>\n\t

    150 young people (18-25 years old)<\/strong> in the most vulnerable communities in Egypt (Menya, Asyut, Sohag, Hagaza and Luxor), including female heads of households (10%) and the disabled (10%) and enabling them to access the labour market as well as to be entrepreneurs<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
