Context<\/h3><\/div>\n\t

This mission is part of the “Promoting health, sexual and reproductive rights and child health” project and is implemented in rural areas of the Analamanga region of Madagascar. It takes place in a context marked by difficulties in accessing health, sexual and reproductive rights and child health. These difficulties are exacerbated by significant gender inequalities that weaken the health of adolescent girls, women and children, in addition to difficulties related to financial barriers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Goals<\/h3><\/div>\n\t

The general objective of this service is to conduct a feasibility study for the establishment of a community-based financing scheme to reduce financial barriers to provide access to qualified personnel at birth, prior to the establishment of a community-based scheme for the financial management of obstetric emergencies including childbirth.<\/p>\n

More specifically, the service aims at:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • The elaboration of a precise inventory of existing community-based financial arrangements for obstetric emergencies and village savings practices applicable to health.<\/li>\n
  • The development of operational recommendations for the implementation of an efficient community-based financing system for the reduction of financial barriers to access to skilled birth attendance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
